Orissa end Cooch Behar campaign with innings defeat

Despite Sujit Lenka`s unbeaten century Orissa suffered defeat by an innings and 100 runs in their four-day Cooch Behar Trophy (u-19) Plate-A match against Rajasthan at Jodhpur today. Needing 328 runs to escape the defeat, Orissa were bowled out for 227 in the second innings early on the last day. Lenka waged a lone battle, hitting an unconquered 101, which included 18 boundaries and one six.

With this defeat, Orissa ended their campaign on disappointing note, scoring 12 points from five matches, which included one win, one defeat and three draws. They started off well, beating Kerala by three wickets, but were held to draws in the next three matches by Vidarbha, Kerala and Himachal Pradesh.
